Argentinian music
Agustín Luna (guitar)
Agustín comes from Mar del Plata, Argentina, where he also lives when he is not on tour. Invitations to major folklore and tango festivals such as ‘Tarbes en Tango’, ‘La Locura’ and many others confirm his quality. Juan Falu, the great Argentinian guitarist, says of him: ‘Agustin's tireless search for his musical roots is one of the qualities for which I value him most. To keep a culture alive, you can't just be a spectator, you have to be a participant and a creator. Agustín Luna has developed into a performer who has mastered the subtleties and signs of the musical language. This makes him a musical ambassador for his country and its people.’
Tomás Diaz (Bandoneon)
Tomás comes from Argentina. For many years he was a member of tango ensembles such as La Martino Orquesta Típica, Cecilia Lopez Ruiz and Altos Tangos. In addition to tango, he played folklore in various ensembles, such as Luciana Gagliano. He has been a member of Cuarteto Danzarín since 2019.
(voice, bombo)
Marita Moyano is an Argentine singer who captivates with her original timbre voice and her moving performance.
His repertoire includes iconic popular songs from his country and region and songs of his own composition, inspired by his neighborhood, the sea of his hometown, love, and the poetry of everyday life.
Marita follows her path as a profound singer along with teaching, research and the continuous search for beauty and genuine emotion when singing.
Gustavo Colmenarejo (guitar, voice)
Many people know Gustavo as a tango teacher and dancer and some also know him as a singer and musician. But he is also an outstanding folklore dancer. Born in Buenos Aires, he discovered this dance in the Argentinian folklore stronghold of Córdoba. As part of his training as a folklore teacher, he became a member of the folklore ballet of the ‘La Huella’ institute, with whom he toured Argentina and Latin America and performed at numerous dance festivals.
In his classes, he initially teaches the traditional structures of Argentinian folk dances and supplements them with musical and poetic aspects. All of this is nuanced with humour, anecdotes and many historical references.
Eva Tsigkanou (guitar, bombo)
Born and raised in Athens, Eva began studying piano, guitar and advanced theory at an early age and continued her studies in musicology, ethnomusicology and cultural anthropology as well as music pedagogy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Charles University in Prague. In 2014, she began her systematic study of Argentinian folklore as a musician, dancer and researcher. She lives in Berlin, where she works as a professional tango dancer and teacher of Argentinean folklore. As a musician she has participated in festivals and concerts in Greece, Turkey (Istanbul) and Germany, where she performed with the Trio Atenas Buenos Aires (2017), the Orquesta Vamos (2015), the Ovni Tango Trio (2021), the Trio Folklorico (2022) and others as a guitarist and bombo leguero player. In 2023 she played together with Gustavo Colmenarejo at the festival ‘La Locura’ in Innsbruck.
