The teachers:
Gustavo Colmenarejo
Many people know Gustavo as a tango teacher and dancer and some also know him as a singer and musician. But he is also an outstanding folklore dancer. Born in Buenos Aires, he discovered this dance in the Argentinian folklore stronghold of Córdoba. As part of his training as a folklore teacher, he became a member of the folklore ballet of the ‘La Huella’ institute, with whom he toured Argentina and Latin America and performed at numerous dance festivals.
In his classes, he initially teaches the traditional structures of Argentinian folk dances and supplements them with musical and poetic aspects. All of this is nuanced with humour, anecdotes and many historical references.
Konstantinos Pantelidakis
Konstantinos teaches traditional Cretan and Greek dances. He describes his teaching as follows: ‘Cretan dance is more than just a sequence of steps; it is a living connection to our tradition, history and culture. In my classes I emphasize authenticity and passion and create an environment where students can learn not only the technique but also the soul of Cretan dance. Through music, rhythm and teamwork, I want to pass on the joy and importance of our heritage to future generations.’
